Dr Muhammad Sheikh is a General and Perioperative Medicine Physician who has recently commenced private consulting at The Bays. Following MBBS graduation from University of Karachi in 1998, Dr Sheikh moved to the United Kingdom and received two memberships; The Royal College of Physicians of London and The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. He then moved to Australia to train in various health systems in Victoria focusing on, general internal medicine, respiratory and perioperative medicine and went on to complete his FRACP. In addition, as an advanced training, he undertook two years of training in Critical Care and Complex care medicine locally.
Dr Sheikh currently holds his public appointment with Monash Health. He has sessional clinics at Cabrini and Knox Private Hospitals. He holds postgraduate qualifications in four different countries, and brings with him a wealth of knowledge, passion and experience further ensuring provision of comprehensive general medical and perioperative care to the patients admitted to The Bays Hospital. His special interests include complex general, respiratory and perioperative Medicine. Dr Sheikh has multi-linguistic skills (English, Urdu, Hindi & Punjabi). Not surprisingly, he is a keen cricketer and loves watching sports. He will fit in nicely with the ethos of the Mornington Peninsula.
